Let's be LIVING PROOF OF A LOVING GOD

We live in a world full of darkness. There are people in this world who feel hopeless, oppressed, hungry and alone. What is our responsibility to these people? Should we just tell them that God loves them? Many of them have heard this before. Some have heard the words "Jesus loves you" over and over again, but the words have been empty. They may hear how much they are loved, but they can't see it. They can't feel it.

At Resonate, we believe this is a serious problem. You see, God has showered us, who are imperfect, with His love. And He has commanded us to love others as well. Telling someone that God loves them and leaving it at that doesn't share God's love. If we truly believe that God loves us and we believe that God loves the city of Fremont, we can't ignore the suffering of people in our city. Our goal as children of God is to bring hope to the hopeless, relief to the oppressed, nourishment to the hungry, and comfort to the lonely. We don't do this because we're good people. We do it because God loves the hopeless, oppressed, hungry, and lonely and we don't just want to tell them this good news. We want to show them through the lives we live and the actions we take. In this world full of darkness, Resonate seeks to reflect God's light into our city. We seek not just to be another church, but to be a Church For the City.

"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." (1 John 3:16-18 ESV)

Project Renovate

From May 18 through May 25th. our church wants to touch the lives of disadvantaged women through an event called Project Renovate. As a church, we will be going to the homes of low-income, elderly, or otherwise disadvantaged women to provide them with assistance with repairs, yard work, or housecleaning that currently are extra burdens for them.

To accomplish this mission, we will be calling on each small group to adopt one household to serve during the week of May 18 to May 25th. We will also be accepting nominations for individuals or families in need of this service starting April 22nd, and ending on April 29th. Nominations can be submitted online via the Resonate website.
