Joining the Epicenter Team
Serving God as a part of the Epicenter Team can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. Every member of the Epicenter Team goes through the following process. This process helps us find the right place for you to thrive and use your gifts for God’s glory and to the best benefit of our families. These steps are not always followed exactly in this order, and there will be some overlap and moving back and forth, but this is a good general guideline:
Step One: Submit an Epicenter Team Member Application to express your interest. You can obtain an application from the Service Coordinator on a Sunday morning or by emailing .
Step Two: Meet with Children’s Director or Service Coordinator to discuss your interest, strengths, gifts, etc. You will receive the Epicenter Team Handbook and discuss portions of it with the Children’s Director or Service Coordinator. This will help you understand the DNA of Epicenter and begin to find where you might fit best.
Step Three: Schedule an observation with a leader or class. You will observe a class for one service and assist the Epicenter Team Members there as needed. This will give you a sense of what it’s like in a particular classroom or age group. You may end up observing a few different age groups or environments before finding the one that is the best fit.
Step Four: Second meeting with Children’s Director or Service Coordinator to get feedback on your observation, go over expectations, and your commitment period. If you’re still interested you will discuss some more of the Epicenter Handbook and Leader Covenant and Expectations.
Step Five: Background check and fingerprinting. Everybody who joins the Epicenter Team must be fingerprinted and agree to a background check for the safety of our children.
Step Six: Formally sign your commitment and join the team!
Step Seven: Check in meeting. Some time in the first few months, the Children’s Director or your Service Coordinator will schedule a time to meet with you to discuss how things are going and make sure you’ve been put in the place that best fits you at Epicenter. We will also learn your perspective as a new member of the team!
